pb here!

its been a while but i actually have some news. small as it may be, its still news. ANYWAYS yesterday i went running and did planks for 2 hours no breaks. i feel good except for now i’m sore all over….. and want to cry but in a good way! lol

Quick update: I have reached my goal of getting to 110 lbs before I leave for Japan! It was a pretty big surprise when I weighed myself yesterday, because I didn’t expect it since I’ve been exercising more but I’ve also been treating myself more often as well. But I guess my body really knows what’s best for me! So yes, I’m still on track (: I hope to be back and more active on this blog when I come back from studying abroad. Until then, cheers!

Sugar Intake

Wow. So basically, I only lost 1.5 pounds in two weeks, when I’ve been losing a little over 2 pounds every two weeks consistently for the past two months. And I think it’s because of my sugar intake. Added sugar slows down fat loss, and boy oh boy I’ve been having my fair share of sugar. According to the World Health Organization, the recommended amount of added sugar a person should have each day is ~10% of your total daily calories. For me, I try to eat 1200 calories a day, so that would be 120 calories worth of added sugar, which in turn translates into 30 grams of sugar a day. One mini cliff bar has 9 grams of sugar. One flavored 0% fat chobani greek yogurt has 19 grams of sugar. That’s 28 grams of sugar and I would usually have that all before noon. And I won’t lie, recently when I’m in a rush I’ll eat a luna bar or a clif mojo bar w/ a banana for a meal if I’m in a rush. One luna bar has 12 grams of sugar and a clif mojo bar has 9 grams of sugar.. So clearly I’ve been consuming way over 10% of my recommended added sugar intake for more than enough days these past two weeks. So my mission until I leave for Japan? Cut down on sugar and eat as cleanly as possible, using fruits to satisfy my insane sweet tooth. Oh boy, I’m gonna need to give my motivation a good kick in the butt!

So, i’ve been trying to squeeze some “workouts” in when i can :) and i’m pretty much an epic fail. I kinda feel even less motivated that ever. If i felt not motivated before thats nothing to right now and i have no clue why. There isnt really a huge click for me. I think i want to take up a sport or something. Something that will keep me moving but i’ll actually enjoy. Any ideas?

These are my workouts from yesterday and today. I really hope this shin thing doesn’t last long, because it’s almost been a week since I’ve used the treadmill and I’m scared that I’m losing leg muscle :( My legs were finally starting to look mean! *sigh* but the health of my body comes first. I hope everybody is taking care of themselves, heart, body, mind and all!

Both days:

Elliptical ~60 minutes

Bike ~15 minutes

So I haven’t been updating these past 4 days, but I haven’t stopped exercising or eating right. I just took a break from blogging. Turns out, I don’t really need to keep updating this blog to make sure I maintain a healthy life style! Which is good news for me, because I don’t want to be relying on an outside source to keep my motivation. I want to be able to do this solely for me and be capable of motivating myself with goals I set for myself. So that’s the good news (: I will of course try to keep this blog updated as often as I can and write little blurbs once in a while for fun. 

I’ve been using the elliptical these past 4 days as well, because K is worried that I’m developing shin splints and I can’t afford to get hurt while I’m still trying to lose weight. So I will be using the elliptical until my shin stops hurting! Plus biking when I have a extra time or when the ellipticals are all taken like this morning. 

I use the elliptical for an hour, because that’s how long the preprogrammed workouts are, and I use the 1-2 or 3-4 interval settings. I did 30 minutes of elliptical and 30 minutes of biking today, because the ellipticals were all taken when I first got to the gym! But yes, that’s the only variation in my workouts recently. (: I hope everybody had a good healthy day today!
